Lentils are the best and most inexpensive plant-based source of protein. Per 1/2 cup or 100 grams brown lentils contain 24 grams of protein along with 50% of your daily iron requirements. They are very versatile, can be added to any dish and easy to prepare. They are delicious when seasoned or without any seasoning. They just have a distinct, delicious natural flavor.

To fortify the brown rice with more protein, I have added bone broth protein powder from Naked Nutrition. Bone broth powder also adds more flavor to the rice.

By eating a dinner such as this one you are consuming all the protein you need after a good weight training workout. You can actually forego having a whey protein shake after your workout.
