Goal Setting for Weight Loss
and Exercise Programs
Often when people begin exercising
or start a weight loss program, they tend to focus on short-term goals.
When those goals aren't realized or they may be set too high and are therefore
unattainable, they get frustrated and discouraged. A negative attitude
sets in and they eventually give up.
Rather than looking towards
the short-term, try to set long-term goals that are achievable and more
realistic. By doing this, you are taking much smaller steps towards your
goals. You see better results and as a result, you are maintaining a positive
outlook. Eventually as you persevere, you will achieve your long-term goals
and feel good about yourself, your results.
This short tip is just a generalization.
Some people will tend to lose weight or benefit from exercise at a much
faster pace, while others at a much slower. It all depends on many factors
including your metabolism. Just remember to adjust any goals according
to your honest ability to achieve them.
